1000 out of 100! My husband and I came in for dinner as we were visiting family. Let me tell you, the flavors of the food reminded me of what the soul food WAS like in the Bay Area. The two young ladies who served us were very friendly and provided exceptional customer service. The food was absolutely delicious!!!

Just had my 65th Birthday dinner here. I have to say that was the best catfish dinner I have had since 1978 at the NCO club at Whiteman AFB in MO. Thank your for serving us a wonderful meal in a great place. The catfish just melted in my mouth and the green beans..mmmmmmmmmmmmm yum. The owner and staff are great :D

Absolutely delish! I wish I took a picture but I was too hungry. The portions are good and so are the prices. I thought I was going to have to go to Sac for soul food but I am so glad I found this gem in my new city! I got the fried ribs, greens and Mac and cheese!

This is whole in the wall vibe restaurant located right off the hwy 70 it is a hidden gem. The owner Drake has been doing his thing for over 35 years in the soul food game . The choice music is on point sitting down listening to some Bobby Womack soul music with soul food. Drake just bought out a complimentary order of Fried Fish (Snapper) and Greens it's fire don't even need the crystal. We order the smothered chicken and BBQ chicken both was great choices. It came with Fired cabbage and Green beans. Great favor and cooked prefect. This must if you're in the area. Make sure about the store behind the ErmaJean name .

WOW. I've eaten here once before maybe about 6 years ago when I first moved to CA, but sadly I don't remember anything about it other than a really pleasant conversation with the cook. I decided to try it again and I admit, I do have pretty terrible food anxiety when it comes to cleanliness & meat temps, so the mixed reviews scared me a bit. But holy crap have I been sleeping on Erma Jean's!! My boyfriend & I got the turkey leg, catfish, yams, mac&cheese, greens, green beans and beans & rice. EVERYTHING was perfect! The turkey was literally falling off the bone and it was HUGE. The catfish (first time trying catfish for both of us) was soo delicious! Veggies were all perfect texture & flavor. My favorite was the yams. The mac was the most perfect comfort food. The beans & rice were *slightly* bland, however, since the rest of the meal was SO full of flavor I found myself taking bites of that to kind of cleanse my palette as needed. And it WAS good, I could just see how some people might find it lacking a little. Though I'm not normally a huge fan of cornbread in general, this cornbread was the perfect ratio of moist, fluffy and gritty. I read through hundreds of reviews before trying and even checked through Facebook, and I saw the owner was recently dealing with some scary health issues. I do hope he's doing alright & can keep Erma Jean's going because I WILL be back! Much love!

Today was our first time trying Erma Jeans. It had good reviews and who can pass up home cooked southern food!? Well this place is a delicious GEM! Hunter is the cook and his talent for cooking is SPOT ON!!!! Hubby had smothered pork chops, mashed potatoes (not from a box!), gravy and green beans! He said all was amazing! I had smothered ox tails, yams and greens. OMG fall off the bones ox tails, sweet yams and just the right combo of flavor for the greens! Our meals came with cornbread, also delish! We WILL be back and if you are debating, please GO! You will not be disappointed. It was Southern home cooking at its finest! Thank you Hunter and Makayla!

We ordered this and it was pretty good! The food was reasonably priced, and the portions were pretty good (on the bigger side). We ordered the fried chicken with green beans and corn bread, and the pork chop with greens and rice and beans. Both were very tasty. The chicken was crispy and perfectly cooked! The greens, I feel like they lacked taste, as they were very plain. We didn't know that each plate comes with corn bread!! lol, so I got double corn bread haha! Overall, pretty good! we would get it again if in the area!
